JACK McKINNEY Mr. Jack McKinney of Dallas, Texas was born November 21, 1917 in Norman, Oklahoma and died June 27, 2005 at Ridgecrest Retirement and Health Care Center in Waco, Texas A memorial service will be held at Grove Hill Memorial Park located in Dallas, Texas at 4118 Samuell Blvd. 75228. The service will be at 9:30 AM on July 16, 2005. Mr. McKinney was born in Norman, Oklahoma and graduated from Norman High School. He attended the University of Oklahoma before serving in the11th Armored Division 491st Armored Field Artillery Battalion of General Patton's 3rd Army in WWII. During WWII, he survived the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he resided in Dallas, Texas from 1945 to 2003. Mr. McKinney worked in the oil and gas industry as a broker of mineral leases. Mr. McKinney joined the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association in 1951 and was Life member. He was a 50-year member of the OU Club of Dallas. He served in numerous capacities including the presidency in 1963, a member of the Board of Directors, and as historian of the Club. In 2001, the OU Club of Dallas created the Jack McKinney Award Scholarship in his honor. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Frances McKinney of Norman, Oklahoma, brothers Grady McKinney and Rea P. McKinney, a sister, Margaret McKinney and his wife, Winifred Hubbard McKinney. Survivors include his son, Jack Norman McKinney and his wife Linda of Waco, Texas, his daughter, Rita McKinney Sterling and her husband Robert of Little Rock Arkansas, granddaughters Marlene and Kathleen McKinney, grandsons Mario and Nick Ramos, and six great grandchildren.
