Jackie Paulette (Buckner) Puckett passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, with her husband, daughter, and son by her side. A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery Saturday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. George Guerra, Sr., and Dr. Jim Elsberry officiating.
Jackie was born September 30, 1948, in Waco, to Jack and Alice Buckner. She graduated from University High School in 1967, where she was a dedicated student, gifted athlete, and a member of her varsity volleyball, track, and cheerleading teams. She was a fiercely devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who found no greater joy than her time spent with her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren. She valued her lifelong friends dearly and enjoyed spending time with their families as well. Throughout her life, Jackie loved cooking, fishing, walking, and making sure Steve never had to wonder what to do with his spare time.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Buckner; mother, Alice Buckner; mother-in-law, Lilah Puckett; and brother, Robert Buckner.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Lee Puckett; son, Robert Trey Puckett and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Elsberry Puckett; daughter, Stacey Puckett Guerra and son-in-law, George Guerra, Jr.; grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Puckett (20), Jacob Diego Guerra (18), Cooper James Puckett (14), and Avery Grace Guerra (9); and sister-in-law, Janice Elaine Puckett.
Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Mike Jackson and Mr. Marvin Matus.
Two of Jackie’s favorite things in life were babies and puppies. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Waco Humane Society.
