Jacqueline McLain-Bryan July 25, 1924 - November 18, 2010 Jacqueline Carter McLain-Bryan of Waco passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Regent Care Center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 22, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 21, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Jacqueline was born July 25, 1924, in Brenham, Texas, to William Carter and Lucile Broach Carter. During her childhood she was raised in the towns of Belton, Brady, Coleman and Brownwood. It was in Brownwood where she graduated high school in 1941. She married Albert McLain in 1948, and they had two sons. She moved to Waco in 1969 and worked for Urban Renewal, Waco Savings and Loan and the American Bank. She always said that her most enjoyable job was working at Waco Savings and Loan where she looked forward to having dinner with the "Waco Ex's". In 1983, Jackie married Fletcher Bryan and had several good years together until his death. Later in life Jackie took up the hobby of cross stitching and was a member of the EGA Texas Star Chapter where she made many friends and enjoyed their "stitch in's". She was preceded in death by both husbands and her parents. Survivors include her sons, David A. McLain and wife, Noreen Barnes, of Richmond, VA, and William J. McLain and wife, Rose, of Waco; grandchildren, Adam, Angela and Nicole; and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Arik. Jackie was a strong supporter of Caritas and Meals on Wheels and in lieu of flowers, please donate to these great causes.
