James Andrew Atchley

James Andrew Atchley October 17, 1909 - April 4, 2007 James Jimmy Atchley, age 97, formerly of Waco, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rick Atchley, his grandson, officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Jimmy was born October 17, 1909 in Troy, TX to Mac and Mattie Atchley. He graduated from Troy High School. He had been an elder at the former South Waco Church of Christ. He was a member of Odd Fellow Lodge, Beverly Hills Lions Club past president and the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce. Previously he had been fire chief at Ft. Hood and long-time proprietor of several Waco businesses. He was a rock-hound, fisherman, hunter and an artist. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ona May Atchley and his second wife, Josephine Atchley; one son, Dan; three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his son, James M.
