James C Pyle

James C. Pyle December 25, 1917 - October 25, 2008 James "J.C." Pyle of Waco passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at his residence. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Waco Memorial Park with the Chaplain Brian Pendleton officiating. Burial will follow. J.C. was born December 25, 1917 in Waco, Texas to Joseph and Zora Pyle. He graduated from Waco High in 1935. He married Mildred Irene Jeanes on February 14, 1942. He owned and operated Jay Cee's Food Stores from 1950 to 1989. He was a past Master of Herring Lodge of Masonic Order and a 32 degree Mason and taught Masonic work for 15 years and participated in Meals-On-Wheels for five years. James has been a lifelong Baptist and a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Elanzo and Zora Ada Pyle, and sister, Fay Blount. He is survived by his wife, Mildred I. Pyle, Waco, TX son, James Pyle II; grandsons, James III and wife Laurie Pyle; Christian Pyle and sister, Wanda Harris. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in J.C.'s name. Special appreciation is expressed to Providence Hospice for their care and understanding.
