James Clarence Reid passed away Monday, April 17, 2023. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 24, at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
James was born July 17, 1930, in Waco, Texas, to C. C. and Josephine Reid. He worked at H&H Sign, the VA Hospital, and delivered for the Red Cross. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, and playing dominoes. He was a huge fan of Baylor and Dallas Cowboy football. It was a pleasure to hear him tell stories of the early days of Waco.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor “Elly” Guice; son, James Reid; daughters, Elizabeth Moreno, Tiffany Behr, and Dawne Cochran; grandchildren, Michael Reid, Jessica Reid, Elysia George, Tina Moreno, Samantha Potter, Sabrina Bakken, Sarah Erickson, Sheila McGuire, Jessica Peterson, Janette Gomez, and Jacqueline LaPierre; great-grandchildren and others who were blessed to call him ‘friend.’
The family would like to express gratitude to the physicians and staff of the Veterans Administration Hospital in both Temple and Waco for their care for James over the years.
