James Daniel Mcmurtry

MC MURTRY, JAMES James Daniel McMurtry, age 90, formerly of Waco, died Friday, October 12, 2001 at a Newport News, VA retirement center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, October 20th at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. McMurtry was born in Nashville, TN, raised in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas; he had been a resident of Virginia for five years. He retired from Central Freight Lines, after 50 years as a trucker. He had been a deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Waco, and a member of York River Baptist Church in Williamsburg, VA. Survived by son, James Robert McMurtry of Waco, daughter, Sue McMurtry Wynn and husband, J.W. Bill of West Point, VA, grandsons: Daryl Wynn and wife, Suzanne of Chesapeake, VA and David Wynn and wife, Beverly of Fort Mill, SC, and three great grandsons. He was preceded in death by wife, Lillie Dorsey McMurtry. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
