James E. Stafford

STAFFORD, JAMES E. James E. Stafford, age 86, of Waco died Thursday, April 25, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1:30PM Monday, April 29 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Ben Disney and Rev. Jo De Heyduck officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Sunday, April 28 at the funeral home. Mr. Stafford was born in Oregon in 1916. He moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of 12, and then moved to Waco in 1942. He was in the Air Force 1942-1946. He was a public accountant for many years and owned a CPA firm, he retired in 1985. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and reading. Pallbearers will be Clinton Stafford, Scott Stafford, Tim Miller, Steven Opstad, Mike Staas, and Larry Staas. Survivors include wife, Lorrayn S. Stafford; children and step-children, Margie and Greg Gillenwater, Dellayne Helmstetter, Adria and Herman Opstad, Bill and Delsa Stafford, Terry Booker, Robert Stafford, and James and Jackie Stafford, sixteen grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
