James E. Jim Lindloff November 16, 1921 December 27, 2008 James Lindloff passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Meadowbrook Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. James E. Lindloff was born November 16, 1921, in Waco, and lived in Waco until 1936 when he moved to Dallas. He attended high school at Sunset and graduated from North Dallas High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and his first tour of duty commenced August 1940, and lasted through WW II until August 1946. After his discharge, his first job was with Continental Oil Company in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1950 he re-enlisted in the Navy. In 1952 he was deployed to serve his country in the Korean War on the USS Brimmington. He served in the Navy 20 years and upon retirement, in 1963, moved back to Waco, where he worked for the V.A. Regional Office. In 1944, he met the love of his life, Pauline Wright, in Dallas, while attending a dance at the Night Spot. It was love at first sight, and they married on December 7, 1946. They just celebrated their 62nd anniversary. He joined the Kiwanis Club of Waco Seniors on February 14, 1996, and has served since that time. He enjoyed the fellowship and various activities that he participated in to assist his community. He was encouraged to join the Kiwanis by Joe Snapp. He joined the Freemasons in Wichita Falls in 1948. In 2006, James E. Lindloff received recognition as being a Master Mason for more than fifty years by the Grand Lodge of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Matthew Lindloff; brother, Bobby Lindloff; and sister, Margaret Dickson. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Peggy Lindloff Wells of Temple, Texas; two grandchildren, Linda Gail Curry Daugherty of Lorena and Johnny Lee Curry, Jr. of Waco; two great-grandsons, Joshua Michael Barnard and Matthew Aaron Barnard; son-in-law, Casey Daugherty of Lorena; and 'coffee cousins,' Fred Larson, Clifford Lindloff, Paul Lindloff, George Roper, and Joe Snapp, all of Waco. Memorials may be made to the Senior Kiwanis Club of Waco in memory of James E. Lindloff.
