James went home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2007. Services will be November 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Shuttlesworth officiating. Committal will follow at Oakwood Cemetery after the service. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, November 26, 2007 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. James was born in Golinda, Texas on September 13, 1925. He served his country in WWII at the Battle of the Bulge, receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. He was a retired lieutenant from the Waco Police Department. He was preceded in death by his wife Levetta. He is survived by his daughter, Madoline Rogers and her husband, Richard; and two grandchildren: Michael and Jennifer. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Providence Hospice for their loving care of James. The family request that memorials be made to Providence Hospice.
