James Merle Cunningham

James Merle Cunningham February 28, 1939 - December 31, 2014 James Merle Cunningham of Woodway passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at St. Catherine Center. Services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Barry Miller officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. James was born February 28, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, to R.J. and Lorene Cunningham. He was an avid scouter for 30 years with the Boy Scouts of America and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. He held Bachelor and Master degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University and retired from Alliant Techsystems of McGregor after 31 years and then L3 Waco after ten years. He was also a 50- year member of Crestview Church of Christ in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents, R.J. and Lorene Cunningham; and one sister, Janene Cunningham. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Cunningham of Woodway; one son, James C. Cunningham and wife, Iris, of China Spring, Texas; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Zoe Cunningham.
