CROSS, JIM James R. “Jim” Cross, 73 of Waco, died Saturday, February 5, 2005. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 10, at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Chapel with Jim Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 9 at the funeral home. Jim was born November 9, 1931 in Waco to Fred and Lillian Cross. He graduated from Waco High School in 1950 and attended the University of Texas, where he met his wife Latriece. He worked for many years at Central Texas Iron Works but is better known for Jim Cross Photography. As a freelance photographer, he often contributed to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine. After retirement, Jim worked at Ridgecrest Retirement Village and Lakeshore Estates. His favorite retirement occupation was driving a school bus for Midway ISD. He was an active member of Kiwanis Club of Waco Seniors. Jim married Latriece Smith in Dallas, May 30, 1953 and in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary their children sent them on a Caribbean cruise. Survivors include wife Latriece, daughters Lisa Hoffman and husband David and Debbie Cole and husband Kip; son Rob, granddaughters Sgt. Krystal Cole and Valerie Roberts and husband Jason, great grandchildren Alyssa and Devyn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kiwanis, 8217 Forest Ridge Dr., Waco, 76712.
