James Robert Cates

CATES, JAMES ROBERT James Robert Cates, age 77, of Hewitt, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, March 21 at Waco Memorial Park with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Cates was born on January 19, 1925 in Sherman. He worked as an engineer for the U.S. Government for 40 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Mildred J. Cates of Hewitt; daughters, Sandra Batson and husband, Donnie of Fort Worth and Anne Kerns of Albuquerque, NM; son, Chuck Stanley and wife, Diane of Robinson; grandchildren, James Wiederman of Athens, Georgia, Scott Kerns of Albuquerque, Melanie Van Blarcum of Robinson, and Michelle Knight of Palmer, and great granddaughter, Winter Blarcum of Robinson.
