James Robert Schwarz April 29, 1935 - August 6, 2014 James Robert Schwarz of Waco passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with the Pastor Paul Krupicka officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m., St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bartlett, Texas, 30650 Texas 95, Bartlett, Texas 76511. Visitation will be 3:00 -5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 10, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. James was born April 29, 1935, in Sharp Community, Texas, to Willie Grago and Willie Aline Modesette Schwarz. On December 23, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Arlene Janke at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartlett, Texas. He received a BS degree and a MEd from Southwest Texas State College; a MS degree from Emporia University, Emporia, Kansas. He did post grad work at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas. James began a teaching career in 1956 that lasted until he retired from McLennan Community College in 1993. James was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Dale Robert Schwarz. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Arlene Janke Schwarz of Waco; daughter, Diane George and husband, Don; son, Duane Schwarz and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Stacy Scarsella, Brian and Alan George, Rebecca McFarland and Nathan Schwarz; six great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Hart; brother, Charles Schwarz and wife, Gwen; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorials may be made to Texas Lutheran University Janke Scholarship Fund, St. Matthew Lutheran Church or Lutheran Sunset Ministry in Clifton.
