James Wallace Buddy Hunt of Waco passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007 after a brief illness. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 23, at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Ron Durham officiating and with Masonic Rites. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Buddy was born April 20, 1929 in Waco, TX to Balfour and Helen Baxley Hunt. After serving four years in the U. S. Navy he returned to Waco and joined his father’s business, Million Item Wholesale. He retired as president in 1983. Buddy was a member of the J.H. Gurley Lodge #337, past potentate of the Karem Shrine, and an avid bridge player. He was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Madge; and two brothers, Weyman and Bryan Hunt. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hunt of Waco; sister, Martha Davis of Crawford; niece, Charlotte Burns and husband, Charles; nephew, Gary Davis and wife, Connie; step-daughter, Lori Lind and husband, Rick; step-son, Paul Woods and wife, Lori. Honorary pallbearers are Karem Motor Patrol, Karem Shrine Divan and Past Potentates. Memorial donations may be made to Karem Kamp, 400 Karem Circle, Waco, TX 76712.
