Jamie Rae Kersey May 19, 1972 - April 21, 2008 Jamie Rae Kersey of Austin went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, April 21, 2008. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at First Lutheran Church of Waco with Rev. Terry Atkins conducting. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Jamie was born May 19, 1972 in Waco to Jim and Gina Kersey. She graduated from Georgetown High School in 1990 and attended Baylor University, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications. Jamie went on to complete post baccalaureate work in Texas History. Jamie worked as a tour guide at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, proudly sharing her detailed knowledge of State history and capitol lore. Currently she was working as an office manager and project coordinator for St. Andrews Construction. Jamie loved to travel and detailed her exploits on her MySpace page. An aficionado of all things of the '70s, she collected swag lamps, frogs, and loved Bob Dylan. She also loved her cat, Josie, her plants, reading books and she owned every episode of Murder She Wrote. Jamie was voted Life of the Party in High School and brought the same brightness and life to every family gathering. She leaves behind her loving parents, James Ray and Gina Olson Kersey of Waco; her brother, Joshua Paul Kersey of Austin; her daughter, Marianne Jorgenson of Denmark; grandparents, Martha and Dwayne Breedlove of Bosqueville; grandfather, Homer Ray Kersey of Rutherfordton, NC; grandparents, Flossie and Floyd Olson of Waco; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. She was deeply loved by all. Pallbearers are her cousins: Jason Olson, Michael Olson, Josh Linnenkugel, Ryan Kersey, Eric Kersey, Bo Colley and William Jones. Memorials may be made to Fuzzy Friends of Waco, The Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center of Austin, or charity of your choice.
