Jane Hunt Goodwin, 81, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2005, at a local nursing home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Pamela Dykehouse officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. She was born on May 27, 1923, in Hillsboro, Texas, to Willie Andrew and Fannie May Peadon Hunt. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1941. She moved to Waco in 1942, and worked for Amicable Life Insurance Company. Jane met O. David Goodwin, June 24, 1944, on a blind date. They were married in Waco on September 2, 1945. Mrs. Goodwin was a long time member of Herring Ave. United Methodist Church where she was active in the Mary Joseph Sunday School Class, and a leader in children’s church. She volunteered for many years at Caritas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Olive Spross, Dorothy Patterson, and Isabel Davis Neal. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, David; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and David Lintz of Waco, and Jim and JoAnne Moore of Edmonds, Washington; grandchildren: Kevin and April Lintz of Ft. Worth, Jeremy Lintz of Ft. Worth, and fiance, Sarah Pope, of New York City, Collin Moore, Patrick Moore, and Natalie Moore, all of Edmonds, Washington; her sister, Jo Brown of Austin; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the thoughtful staff of Regent Care Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caritas, 300 S. 15th St., Waco, TX, 76701.
