Jane Ruth Heard “Mama Doc” Coffey of Albuquerque, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister died Jan. 9, 2007. A memorial service was 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10, 000 Candelaria Rd. NE, Albuquerque. Interment will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Evergreen Cemetery, 1379 New Windsor Pwky., McGregor. Jane was born June 24, 1932, in Houston. She attended McGregor public schools, graduating at age 16 and was accepted to Baylor University where she attended school with her husband, Frank. They moved to Albuquerque in 1960, where she devoted her time to raising her family and volunteering for many children’s organizations. She was active in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and was a third grade Sunday school teacher for over 16 years. She and her family were among the founding members of Asbury United Methodist Church, and she remained a supportive member of the church throughout her life. In her later years, she was her grandchildren’s most devoted fan, attending as many of their activities as possible. She will be remembered for her devotion to children, her kindness, and her love and dedication to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank. She is survived by her four children, Cheryl Fuller of Fort Worth, Lisa Marshall and her husband, Bill, of Albuquerque, Laura Banks and her husband, Kevin, of Albuquerque, and Scott Coffey and his wife, Julie, of Jackson, Miss.; grandchildren, Colin, Lauren, Kate and Maggie Fuller, Crystal and Ashley Marshall, Nathan Banks and Liam Coffey; and her brother, Jack of Midland, Texas. Reflecting her love of children, in lieu of flowers, Jane requested that contributions be made to All Faith’s Receiving Home, 1709 Moon Street NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112.
