Janette S. Mayer, 81, of Robinson, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016, with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey with Bro. Kevin McMullen officiating. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitations will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Jan was born November 23, 1934, in Moody, Texas, to Norman and Arline Standridge. Early in Jan’s adult life she attended McLennan Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Nursing and began her nursing career at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. The biggest joy in Jan’s life was her three children, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, whom she opened her home up to on many occasions. When Jan wasn’t cooking for her grandkids, picking them up from school or sporting activities, eating lunch at the Rocket Café, you would find her rocking on her back patio listening to the birds or caring for her lush yard full of flowers. Many Friday and Saturday nights you would find her cutting a rug at one of the local dance halls. She was proceeded in death by her parents; her beloved Cajun husband, Bill Mayer; and daughter, Cheryl Moskal. She is survived by her son, Gary Hinson and wife, Debbie, of Robinson, daughter, Debbie Acton and Toby Brink of Chalk Bluff; son-in-law, Mel Moskal of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Chasity Weaver and Quinton Roberts of Robinson, Josh Hinson and wife, Brandie, of Little Rock, AR, Shane Davis and wife, Kelly, of Houston, TX, Shiloh Acton and wife, Amanda, of Lafayette, LA, Cheyenne Blanchard and husband, Mike, of Killeen, TX and Crystal Acton of Waco; ten great grandchildren and one additional expected August 2016; her brother, K-Bob Standridge, of Oklahoma and sister, Jeanie Dutschmann of Lorena, TX. Pallbearers are Josh Hinson, Shane Davis, Marcus Little, Brian Ashby, David Ashby and Jason Ashby. Honorary pallbearer is Shiloh Acton.
