Jean Ann Richardson

October 30, 1931 — February 6, 2023

Jean Ann Richardson, of Waco, passed away peacefully in her home, at the young age of 91, Monday, February 6, 2023.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 16, from 4 – 6 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. in Waco. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. February 17, at 1:00 p.m., with Dr. Jeff Smith officiating, at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th St, Waco, Texas 76706.

Jean Ann was born October 30, 1931, in San Antonio, to Melvin and Puella Patton. In 1932, her family moved to East Texas and lived there until 1939. That next year, the Pattons made the big move to Waco, Texas. She attended Waco schools and graduated in January of 1950. She was a big proponent of organizing class reunions and even worked with Governor Ann Richards to bring the class of 1950 to the state capitol.

Jean Ann married William “Bill” Richardson on February 7, 1953, in Waco. They welcomed their daughter Nancy to the world in 1958. Jean worked alongside her husband in the insurance business and was actively involved with the Insurance Women of Waco. She was an active member of the Waco Garden Club as well. Bill and Jean enjoyed weekend trips to Shreveport to support the horse track and casinos. Jean became a grandmother in 1988 and gained the nickname “Mimi.” She wholeheartedly embraced her role as a grandmother and treasured each and every moment with her grandchildren. Jean joined Bill in Heaven on the eve of their 70th wedding anniversary.

She was preceded in her death by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, William “Bill” Richardson; her parents, Melvin and Puella Patton; and her two brothers, Bobo and Bill Patton.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Richardson, formerly Koslovsky; her grandson, David Koslovsky and wife, Jordan; her granddaughter, Brooke Koslovsky; and two great-granddaughters, Heidi and Larkin Koslovsky.

In lieu of flowers, it was Jean Ann’s wish to make contributions to the Humane Society of Central Texas at 2032 Circle Road Waco, Texas 76706 or to the Aggieland Humane Society at 5359 Leonard Road Bryan, Texas 77807. These two places gave her the furry companionship of Bebe and Flo, who both blessed her with so much love and affection.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Bluebonnet Health Services for their compassion and support.
