Jeffery Lee Stovall July 2, 1954 - July 14, 2006 Jeffery Lee Stovall, 52, of Waco, Texas, passed on July 14, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home at 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Jeff was born on July 2, 1954 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Bill and Margaret Stovall. He grew up in Denver, Colorado; Altamont, Illinois; Evansville, Indiana; and Tyler, Texas. He graduated in 1972 from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler. Jeff went on to graduate from Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in history. On December 30, 1977, he married Carla Jane Neff of Tyler. Jeff and Carla loved and adored their two children, Alex, 23, and Amy, 20, throughout their 21 year marriage. They lived in Elkhart, IN; Waycross, GA; and Waco, TX. On March 8, 2003, Jeff married Bobbie Etheredge of Waco and became the stepfather of Amanda, 16, and Amber, 12, who he loved and supported as his own. Jeff worked as a purchasing manager for Clayton as part of a thirty-year career in the mobile home industry. Jeff was a loving father to all four of his “kiddies”. He was known and loved for his constant readiness with a dry, pessimistic joke. He enjoyed bowling poorly and was an avid crummy golfer. While at home he enjoyed yard work, boating, and his prized 1970 MGB convertible. One of his greatest joys was the family tradition of supporting the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. He devotedly followed the Cardinals and collected memorabilia of his favorite players. In 2005, as a birthday gift, Alex and Amy took their Dad to St. Louis for three games during the final season at Busch Stadium II. We, his family, feel lucky to have spent his last weekend together in Houston attending two fantastic Cardinal’s games. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents William S. and Margaret Stovall and his brother, Thomas Stovall. Jeff is survived by his wife Bobbie J. Stovall, son J. Alexander Stovall, daughter Amy C. Stovall, stepdaughters Amanda K. Etheredge and Amber K. Etheredge, first wife Carla Stovall, and “Buddy” Princeton all of Waco. He is also survived by his brother James W. Stovall and wife Ella Rae Stovall of Houston, and his brother George A. Stovall and wife Jeanne of Charlottesville, VA. Pallbearers are Don McCann, Richard Latham, Kelly Kerr, Lonnie Porter, and nephews David and Mark Stovall. Honorary pallbearers are Alex Stovall and Del Curlin.
