Jenna Baggett Franklin September 26, 1925 -September 29, 2013 Services for Jenna Baggett Franklin will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Funeral Home with the Rev. David Spain and Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Mrs. Franklin died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at home after a short illness. Mrs. Franklin was born in Yuma, Arizona on September, 26, 1925, to the late Carl Robertson and Louise Woodruff Robertson. Jenna moved with her parents to Temple, Texas in 1936, graduated from Temple High School in 1942, from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor in 1945, and in 1972 earned a Masters degree in Counseling from Baylor University. She married Bill Baggett in 1944, moved to Waco where she lived until her death. Jenna was a teacher and counselor for 38 years at University High School retiring in 1994. She continued to work several days a week as a counselor with Region 12 Service Center for four years. The year Jenna retired she married Keen Franklin and worked as a volunteer with him as an AARP Tax-Aide counselor. Jenna also served on the East Terrace Museum Board, worked with Meals on Wheels at Waco First United Methodist Church, and was a member of several duplicate bridge clubs. Jenna was a member of the First Baptist Church from 1945, working in the primary departments as teacher, pianist, and secretary, until she left to join her husband, Keen as a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. Jenna's first husband, Bill, and her parents Carl and Louise Woodruff Robertson preceded her in death. Survivors include son, W. Mike Baggett and wife, Jo of Dallas; daughter, Pam Spain and husband, David of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter, Carla Hallman and husband, Trip of Christoval; son, Craig Baggett of Waco; grandson, Carl Baggett and wife, DeeAnn of Dallas; granddaughter, Cary Woodall and husband, Ramsay of Dallas; granddaughters, Lindsay Stenberg and husband, Doug, of Dallas, Jana Alexander and husband, Trey of Cleveland, Ohio; grandsons, Collins Gregory and wife, Katie of Salado, Seth Gregory of Temple, Will Spain and wife, Steffan of Norman, Oklahoma and eleven great-grandchildren. Also survived by stepson, Bill Franklin and wife, Sharon of Roswell, Georgia, stepson, David Franklin and wife, Ollie of New York City, stepdaughter, Deborah Franklin of Asheville, North Carolina, stepson, Tony Franklin and wife, Sharon of Etowah, North Carolina, six step grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.
