Jennifer Cross

Jennifer Ann Cross passed away on February 2, 2022. A visitation will take place at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home on Friday, February 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Jennifer graduated from University High School in Waco. She attended McLennan Community College, where she graduated with a B.S. in nursing. She became an R.N. and practiced in both local hospitals. She was also a traveling nurse in New Jersey and Houston, Texas. She loved her profession. Upon returning to Waco, she again worked for Providence. During this time we were all blessed to find out she was going to have Madie. Jennifer became a stay-at-home mom after her M.S. diagnosis. The diagnosis did not stop her love and attention for Madie. When Madie was very small, she played soccer and Jennifer made a great soccer mom. They became very involved in dance at Jenni Holley’s dance academy performing many routines at practices and recitals. After Madie started school, Jennifer was part of the PTA. After school, they also had swim classes. Jennifer loved being a mother. She also enjoyed decorating, especially for Christmas, when she would always have the most beautiful tree. She enjoyed cooking and loved making many of the old family recipes. This past summer’s was her best vegetable garden and she grew many beautiful flowers on the patio. Her newest hobby was knitting, and her family is blessed with artful creations that she made with love. At the time of her passing, Jennifer was working on a master’s degree at Maryville University. Jennifer was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Marvin and Jan Cross; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Betty Cox; uncles, David Cross and Chris Cross; and aunt, Shari Weber. She is survived by her daughter, Madie Cross; father, Michael Mark Cross; mother, Kim Raelene Cross; uncle, Rob Garrett; special family members, Kevin Gaines and Alvania Blackmon; and cousin, Christi Burgess.
