Jessie Margaret Davidson August 3, 1916 – April 4, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of Jessie Margaret Davidson announces her passing at her home in Belton surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 4, 2007. She was 90 years old. Friends may pay their respects at the visitation scheduled for Friday, April 6, 6-8pm at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque, Waco, Texas. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 7 at 2:00 pm at 7th & James Baptist Church, 602 James Avenue, Waco. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. John B. Davidson, October 17, 2003. Jessie Margaret Miller was born on August 3, 1916 to Roy Jefferson and Alpha Izora Garrett Miller in Tolar, Texas. She received her teacher's certificate in 1936 and taught elementary school in several Texas cities before attending North Texas State Teacher's College where she and met and married John B. Davidson in 1938 and received her B.S. in 1939. Margaret went on to graduate school at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She taught music in the Waco public school system from 1957-1981. Margaret was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution D.A.R., P.E.O., Baylor Alumni Association, 7th and James Baptist Church in Waco and various social organizations. Margaret Nanny Davidson was the vibrant, charming, full, rich music of our family. She was always patient, kind and quick to smile, even quicker to laugh. She was generous and loving with a forceful hug and eyes that were lit with a youthful exuberance and sincere affection. She was a competitive game player and a fierce Spoons competitor, yet always remained radiant and lovely. Papa would say isn't she beautiful? She lived a life of compassion, integrity and sacrifice and we listened carefully to the beat she set for our family letting her music enrich our lives and color our future. We are better for loving her and out of step without her. Our family may have lost the music of our hearts, but Papa finally has his back. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest and may the music you hear be eternal. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her children, Donna Mike Cunningham and Suzy Mike Lackmeyer; her six grandchildren, Lisa Cunningham, John Lackmeyer, Cristin Stephen Thomas, Jeff Shannon Lackmeyer, Jay Whitney Lackmeyer and Bonny Lackmeyer; her four great-grandchildren, Trent Thomas, Jenna Lackmeyer, Hannah Lackmeyer and Chase Thomas; her sister, Clyde Dave Johnson; sister-in-law, Lorene FloydDavidson; brother-in-law Roland Davidson, along with several nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Memorials may be made to 7th & James Baptist Church Building Fund, 602 James Avenue, Waco, Texas 76706 or Child Placement Center, 2212 Sunny Lane, Killeen, Texas 76541.
