Jimmie Alexander Mills September 24, 1940 – June 28, 2006 Jimmie Mills, 65, of Waco went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, devoted daddy, proud grandfather, and loyal friend to many. His leadership capabilities and willingness to help others were an inspiration to all. Services will be at 11:30 am Saturday, July 1 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday, June 30 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. He was born September 24, 1940 in Munger, TX to Clarence W. C.W. Mills and Jessie Mae Connor Mills, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Vera Morgan of McGregor; and one grandson, Carey William Mills. Mr. Mills graduated from Hubbard High School in 1959. He married Mary Ann Morgan June 23, 1962 in Freer, TX. The couple moved to Waco in June of 1962 where Mr. Mills began his profession as a licensed Plumber and Pipefitter and was a member of Local #529 for 46 years. After many years of loyal service to other employers he established GMSI in 1993 where he remained owner until his death. He did contract work at M&M Mars for over 30 years. He loved to fish and spend time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Ann Mills of Waco; four children, Robert Mills and wife Donna of Hewitt, Kenneth Mills and wife Wendy of Waco; Paul Mills and wife Kimberly of Robinson and Shirley Koop and husband Doug of San Antonio. He is also survived by one brother, Wayne Mills of Hubbard; and two sisters, Shirley Belle Bewley and husband Kenneth of Lewisville, and Priscilla Parker and husband Mike of Hubbard; brother-in-law, Johnny Morgan and wife Kay of Austin; also his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Makenzie and Camron Mills all of Hewitt; Cody, Connally and Collin Mills of Waco; Kendra Griffin, Elizabeth, Marshall and Hunter Mills of Robinson; Hannah, Madison, Brandon and Evan Koop of San Antonio. Also surviving are, one uncle Jimmy Dean Connor and wife Marion of Hubbard; two aunts, Gladys McCrory of Tyler and Willie Mae Mills of Hubbard; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers are Artie Giotes, Ricky Faust, George Andrie Jr., Danny McCorkle, Larry Green, Dennis Clark, Ken Orton and Gerald Sledge.
