Jo Elizabeth Miller March 29, 1947 April 20, 2008 Jo Elizabeth "Betsy" Miller, 61, of Waco, passed away Sunday April 20, 2008, at her home. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Su Milam officiating. Betsy was born March 29, 1947, in Waco, to Delos and Madie Curb. She graduated from Baylor University in 1970 with a Bachelors of Education, and in 1990 with a Masters of Science in Education with Counseling Specialty. Through her years of service at the Heart of Texas Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center, she provided a solid foundation on which challenged members of our community built new and stronger lives. Betsy's service to the community included her years as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the Fort House of the Historic Waco Foundation. Additionally, Betsy was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church, where she was an avid member of the choir. Betsy was preceded in death by her father, Delos Curb. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her mother, Madie Curb; sons, Courtney Mitchell of New York, Ryan Miller of Bullard, and Griff Miller of Mart; a grandson, Gage Miller; a nephew, nieces and cousins; and countless other relatives and friends. She was deeply loved and treasured by the family and friends she left behind. The family would like to give special acknowledgement and express deepest gratitude to Bluebonnet Hospice for their loving care.
