BARNES, JOANNE JoAnne Barnes, 73 of Waco died Saturday, July 10, 2004 at an Austin hospital. Services will be at 3:30pm Wednesday, July 14 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, July 13 at the funeral home. Mrs. Barnes was born December 13, 1930 in Dallas to J.A. and Holly Brown Crawford. She attended Waco Schools. She married Albert Barnes December 31, 1947. She worked for Amicable Life Insurance Co. in Waco for 30 years. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. She loved bowling and her many bowling friends and held several offices with Waco Women’s Bowling Association. Survivors include husband, Albert Barnes of Waco; daughter, Dorothy Ann Young of Austin; son, John Al Barnes of Athens; grandchildren, Elizabeth Young, Holly Conger, Cara Barnes, Kelly Barnes and Mallory Barnes; and great grandson, Joshua Cote Conger.
