Joe A. Maciel, Sr. October 28, 1948 December 13, 2012 Joe Angel Maciel, Sr. of Waco peacefully passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 surrounded by loving family and friends. Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, December 17, at Wilkirson Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. John Guzaldo officiating. Joe was born October 28, 1948 in Waco, to Andres and Maria Maciel. He had a love for tejano music and enjoyed dancing and being surrounded by friends and family. He had many gatherings at his home where he enjoyed barbequing. In his leisure time he enjoyed playing pool, and was a member of many leagues in the Waco area. He loved watching football and was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. He was married for 46 years to his true best friend, Dodie and would rarely see him without her at his side. He served in the Army for 2 years and was an active Veteran in the community. He retired from Owens-Illinois where he worked for 30+ years. He will always be remembered for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand to others. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Dodie. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Maciel, Joe Maciel, Jr. and Marisa Maciel; grandchildren, Angelo and Christopher Torres and Mark Hannibal, Jr.; sisters, Hope Salazar and husband Jose, Vicky Mata, Gloria Gonzales, Andrea Perez, and Irene Salazar and husband Julio; brothers, Raymond Maciel and wife, Sally, Jesse Maciel and wife, Linda, Johnny Maciel and wife, Eva; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his close friend Manny Ramos and the Aguilar family for all their help and support.
