Joe M. Garcia, Sr. August 27, 1930 - January 13, 2016 Joe M. Garcia, Sr. of Waco passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 surrounded by his loving children. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. and Rosary will be at 7 p.m., Sunday, January 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Joe was born August 27, 1930 in Seguin, Texas, to Luis Garcia and Guadalupe Garcia. He was the world’s best father and was always there with his welcoming smile. He retired from WISD with many years of service. Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Angelita Martinez Garcia; and two sons, Antonio Garcia and Martin Garcia. He is survived by his daughters, Gillerma (Velma) Garcia and Maria Reyes, Mary Martinez and husband, Joe Jr., Gloria Jimenez and husband, Joe L Jr., Carolyn Garcia, Teressa Garcia, Yolanda Jimenez and husband, Raymond; sons, Angel Garcia and wife, Teri, Leonardo Garcia and wife, Olga, Joe M. Garcia, Jr., and wife, Alejandra, and George Nunez and wife, Maria; daughter-in-law, Angie Garcia, widow of Martin Garcia; 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Adrian Zamora, Nicolas DeLeon, Joe Martinez III, Jason Castillo, Thomas Melendez, Joe Garcia III, Steven Alexander Jimenez and Joseph Melendez. Honorary pallbearer is Martin Anthony Garcia.
