Joe R. Rodriguez May 9, 1921 - February 11, 2012 Joe R. Rodriguez of Waco passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Providence Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 13, at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Roman as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary and Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Joe was born May 9, 1921, in Mosheim, Texas to Leopoldo and Aurora Rodriguez. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was very proud of his service to his country. He enjoyed gardening and handiwork and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elvira Rodriguez, and his infant son, Joe. He is survived by two brothers, Jesse Rodriguez, and Rudolph Rodriguez; one sister, Ruby Almanza; six children, Josephine Rios and husband Hildo, Frances Fisher and husband Wayne, Gloria Valdez and husband Robert, Minnie Simcik and husband Richard, Joe Rodriguez Jr. and Vel Barnes and husband Dennis, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
