JOE ENGLISH Joe R. English, 56, of Waco, died Friday, May 24, 2002 in a local hospital. Services will be 1:30PM Tuesday, May 28 at WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY Bosque Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00PM Monday, May 27 at the funeral home. Mr. English was born July 29, 1945 in Houston, Texas to Gerald & Dorothy English. He was a graduate of the University of Houston with a BA in 1967 and completed graduate work in Military Science as part of his long Marine Corp career. In college he was a member of Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a Marine Corp aviator and flew the A-6 Intruder during his tour in the Vietnam war. Mr. English retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1989. Since that time he has lived in Waco and worked for Merrill Lynch. At the time of his death, he was Vice-President and Resident Manager of the Waco Merrill Lynch office. Mr. English was an active member of the Waco Sailing Club & Ridgewood Country Club. He previously served on the board of the American Heart Association. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors: wife, Denise Donahew English of Waco; daughter, Kristin English Porter & husband David of Waco; brother, Jay C. English of Dallas; and in-laws, Mr. & Mrs. Bobby Donahew of Elm Mott. Honorary pallbearers will be Chip Rawlinson, Paul Svacek, Garry Dossey, Joe Hinton, Robert Smith, Tex Corley, Fred Flihan, and Dillard Copeland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
