John B. Menard October 24, 1935 - January 12, 2011 John B. Menard, Jr., of Waco passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Barry Camp officiating. There will be an informal reception with the family in the Garden Room following the service. John was born in San Antonio, TX, and was reared in Texas City, TX. He graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Business and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a pharmacist with the VA Regional Hospital, Waco. He was an avid follower of Baylor Basketball. He loved his family and supported his children and grandchildren in all their activities. John was a faithful member of Highland Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Col. John B Menard, Ret., and Ellyn Joyce Menard; grandson, Jacob Sobel and nephew, Michael J. Tabor. He is survived by his son, Stephen Menard and wife, Vicki, of Crawford; daughter, Ellyn Meeks and husband, Tim, of Hillsboro; and son, Ted Menard and wife, Nancy, of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Ashley and husband, Corey, Blake, John J., Caitlin, Jennifer, Sarah, Brittany, Samantha and Haylee. Also surviving is his brother, Larry B. Menard and wife, Beverly, of Ace, TX and sister, Ann Jinkins and husband, Dr. Jack Jinkins of Waco; and several nieces and nephews. John was eagerly anticipating the birth of his first great-granddaughter, Kaylin, in March.
