John Dudek, Sr. January 1, 1925 - October 24, 2014 John Francis Dudek, Sr., passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014. Services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, October 30, at St. Mary's The Assumption Catholic Church. Viewing will be 6 to 7 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. John was born in Waco on January 1, 1925. He graduated from Waco High School in 1942. He was a scout member in Troop #26 and always spoke highly of his fellow scout brothers. He served in WWII with the United States Army Air Corps as a radio operator on a B-29 in the South Pacific. After the war, he studied and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1950 with a BS in Engineering. John then began his career with the IRS, where he was employed for over 30 years. He was a devout Catholic and attended St. John-Nuemann Catholic Church in Austin. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Preceding him in death were his parents, John Paul and Josephine Snider Dudek; brothers, Fred, Raymond, and Eugene and his wife, Julia Dudek; and sister, Rosalie Dudek. He married Martha Ann Brown of Waco in 1964, who also preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by their five children, Laura Charbeneau, John F. Dudek, Jr., and his wife, Sandra, Richard Dudek, Leslie Dudek, and Donna Shipley and her husband, Joel; his grandchildren, Brandon, Nicki, Christine, Devan, John F. Dudek III "TJ" and Sophie; along with his great-grandchildren, Savana, Gabriel, Ava and Lily; sister, Betty Gross; and brother, Robert Dudek.
