The Lord received an angel. John Esquivel Flores passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church with Father Eduardo Jazo officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 21 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. The Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. John was born May 26, 1935, in Marlin, Texas, to Felipe and Maria Flores. John was a retired police officer. He enjoyed politics, sports, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Maria Flores; brother, Felipe; and sister, Betty Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Amelia Flores; as well as six daughters and one son: Sandra Flores Burch and William, John Flores, Jr., Linda Flores Smith and Sheldon, Brenda Flores Ramos and Milton, Rosemary Flores Garcia, Geneva Flores Lechler and Alvaro, and Felicia Flores Luevano and Fernando; and brothers, Jessie Flores, Lee Flores, and Tony Martinez. John was also the proud grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He will be deeply missed by all. Pallbearers will be Johnny Z. Flores, Adrain Z. Flores, Rickey Flores, Jr., Emilio Flores, Jeno Dominque Flores, Milton (Nae) Ramos, Jr., Alvaro F. Lechler III, Joshua Lechler, and Alejandro Luevano.
