John Everett Rowland

ROWLAND, JOHN E. John E. Rowland, age 80 of Hewitt, former longtime resident of Houston and Austin, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 3, 2001 in a Waco hospital. Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, April 6 at First Baptist Church of Hewitt with Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. Committal services with military honors will be at 4:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Park in Pflugerville, TX. The family will receive visitors Thursday 6:00-8:00 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX. Mr. Rowland was born February 10, 1921, to John F. and Emily G. Rowland in Leander, TX. He served his country in the U.S. Army, Signal Corp. and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1983, after 39 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, Russell. John will be missed by his family and many friends. Survivors include: His wife: Oleta Daughters: Charlsie Rowland of Hewitt, TX Barbie Dutton and her husband, Mike Grandsons: Jon Michael and Zachary, all of Woodway, TX Sisters: Pauline Jamison of Georgetown, TX Muriel Duckett of Austin, TX Many nieces and nephews.
