GILLENWATERS, JOHN John Gillenwaters, age 70, of Waco died Sunday, July 6, 2003 at Scott & White Hospital. Services will be held at 11:30am Friday, July 11 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30-11am Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Gillenwaters graduated from Waco High School, in 1950 and enlisted in the Navy immediately. He served as Hospital Corpsman for six years then was commissioned as an Ensign in Medical Service Corps. He served in many capacities and duty stations until retirement as a Lt. Commander in 1970. Survivors include wife, Marie Gillenwaters; sons, Richard Gillenwaters and wife, Lindalee, and David Gillenwaters; grandchildren, Erin and Ryan Gillenwaters, all residents of Texas.
