John Horace Jinks, 86, of Waco, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm, Saturday, January 10 at Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor, Texas, with his nephew, the Rev. George Ricker officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. in Waco. Mr. Jinks was born November 24, 1917, in Cameron, Texas to John E. and Tot Jinks. He attended the University of Texas in Austin. He served as territory supervisor for J. I. Case Farm Implement Co. and later for Massey-Ferguson Implement Co. for many years, he retired in 1979. He was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco. He was also a 32nd „a Scottish Rite mason and a member of Herring Lodge. Mr. Jinks was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Vivian Dahlberg Jinks. Other survivors include a daughter, Carol Jinks Moore and husband Hays, and their daughter Amanda Moore of League City; and a son, Gary Jinks of Dallas and his children John and Meredith Jinks of Austin. He also has numerous loving nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. He will be remembered for his kind and loving spirit and wonderful sense of humor. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Rosemont Assisted Living Facility for the love and care they provided to both Mr. and Mrs. Jinks during their last years.
