John Lee Dolly January 2, 1960 - January 30, 2013 John Lee Dolly of McGregor passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at his residence due to Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis ALS. Services will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, at Cottonwood Baptist Church, Lorena, Texas with the Dr. Buddy Sipes officiating. Burial will follow at Cottonwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. John was born January 2, 1960 in Arlington, Virginia to Clyde and Arfleeter Dolly. He was raised in Virginia and Meredith, NH until he joined the Army in 1981. He served until 1992 as a Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. He worked for the Department of the Army at Ft. Polk, LA until 2006 as an Auto Craft Instructor at the Auto Craft Shop. He medically retired due to Service connected disabilities in 2006. He and his wife Donna moved to Waco, TX in 2010 to be nearer to their grandchildren. John was a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bonnie Stohl. He is survived by his wife, Donna M. Dolly of McGregor; daughters, Laura Mezzles and husband, Nicholas, of Robinson, TX, Erin Arrington and husband, Stephen of Waco, TX; grandchildren, Kara Arrington, Harrison Mezzles, Jonathan Mezzles and Zacharey Mezzles; sisters, Elizabeth Lowth and husband, William, Carolyn Pickle and husband, Jackie; and brother, Clyde Dolly and wife, Kathleen; and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Jeff Eads, Charles Nantz, Gerald Woods, Stephen Arrington, Nicholas Mezzles, and Tommy Thompson. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association.
