John Matthew Simonson June 23, 1934 - August 26, 2012 John Simonson of Waco passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Providence Hospital. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Paul Fiske officiating. There will be a reception following at First Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. John was born June 23, 1934, in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, to Randall and Mildred Simonson. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and the United States Postal Service. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Waco and a member of the Waco Gem and Mineral Club. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Maria Ann Simonson of Waco; one daughter, Amy Sellers of Waco; one son, John Everett Simonson and wife, Linda, of Maypearl, Texas; one sister, Sharon Wardwell of Citrus Heights, California; one brother, Randy Simonson and wife, Patty, of Buffalo, New York; four granddaughters, Blair Gaines and husband, Steven, Samantha Jachs and husband, Michael, Sarah Simonson and Shelby Simonson; and great-granddaughter, Bella Gaines. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends. Memorials may be made to Bluebonnet Hospice.
