Johnny Ray “J.R.” Torres, age 54 of Waco, died Friday, July 23, 2004. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 27 at 11:30 am at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Ramiro Pena officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, July 26 from 6-9 pm at the funeral home. A prayer service will also be held at 7:00 pm in the chapel on Monday, July 26. Johnny was born January 6, 1950 in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Waco High School and also graduated from the Waco Police Academy. He was in law enforcement for many years and he retired as a police officer. Survivors include, parents, Samuel and Celia Torres of Waco; daughters, Sally T. Guerrero of Austin and Tina R. Serrato and husband John of Austin; sons, Samuel R.
