Johnny Saladino December 24, 1915 – July 14, 2006 Johnny Saladino passed away Friday, July 14, 2006 at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM Monday, July 17 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father David Leibham as Celebrant. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Sunday, July 16 and visitation with the family will follow at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey funeral home. Johnny was born December 24, 1915 in San Antonio, Texas to Joe and Eva Saladino. He was baptized at San Fernando Cathedral. His family moved to Waco when he was a young boy and graduated from Waco High School. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco and attended daily mass until his health failed fourteen months ago. He worked for 35 years for G & B Loan and retired from New York Clothiers and Loan. Johnny had the gift of steady hands for meticulous repairs of fine jewelry. He married Ernestine Luedtke and she passed away in 1967 after a lengthy struggle with cancer. Eleven years later he married Charlotte Dunham. He was preceded in death by a baby sister, his parents, his first wife, three brothers, Frank, Tony and Louis Saladino and two sisters, Lucille Daniel and Sandina Shubert. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, his brother, Sam Saladino and wife, Gena of Fort Worth; sister, Ann and husband Rev. Tommy Brooks of Waco; stepdaughter, Dorothy Faucett of Burleson; grandson, Jason Unger of Waco and granddaughter, Jan Stovall and husband Warren of Cedar Hill; great grandchildren, David, Morgan and Devan Unger. Johnny had the good nature and warm heart like his mother and the determination and love for yard work like his father.
