Jose Chavez March 19, 1948 - April 25, 2015 Jose Chavez of Hewitt passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Ramiro Pena officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Jose was born March 19, 1948, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Trinidad and Gregoria Flores Chavez. He was an active member of Christ the King Baptist Church in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Lidia R. Chavez of Hewitt, Texas; daughters, Stephanie Ann Chavez and Robert Estala of Mart, Texas, and Cynthia Ann Chavez and Mauricio Rosendo of Lubbock, Texas; son, Christopher Gerald Chavez of Killeen, Texas; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Rosa Salgado, Patricia Leyva, Emma Chavez, Cecilia Chavez, Celia Chavez, Ana Ruiz, and Helen Rodriguez; brother, Gerald Chavez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
