Jose “Papilla” Oscar Rivas, 25, entered heaven on November 8, 2017 in Waco, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Benjamin Magnaye officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary will be 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 11 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Oscar was born in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico on June 25, 1992. He grew up in Waco and graduated from University High School with a High School Diploma. He obtained two Associates degrees, one in Associate in Arts and the second in Applied Science and Accounting through McLennan Community College. He was a current employee at Allergan as a Setup Attendant/Manufacturer Tech 2 for 3 years. He enjoyed playing soccer and played with Waco Soccer Association. On his free time, he enjoyed flipping cars while listening to his favorite music, loudly. He was very excited about being a first-time home owner! Preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Raul Rivas, brother Francisco Javier Rivas, and maternal grandparents Esperanza Almanza and J. Santos Jimenez. Survivors include his father, Victoriano (Tolano) Rivas, mother Maria Isela (Chela) Rivas, brothers, Victor, Jose, Eduardo and Ivan Rivas and his only sister Diana Rivas from Waco.
