Joseph Joe F. Thompson November 17, 1936 - March 21, 2008 Joseph Joe F. Thompson of Woodway passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at Residence. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Chaplain Suzanne Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Joe served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1974. He then spent twenty years as a ceramic tile setter. While temporarily stationed in St. Louis, MO he met his future wife Sandy. They were married June 4, 1973 in Little Rock, AR. In 1975 they moved to Phoenix, AZ and remained there until 2001, when they moved to Woodway to be near Sandy's family. Joe truly loved life and found goodness and joy in every day. He found friends wherever he was and was loyal and faithful to them. He and Sandy were not only husband and wife but were best friends. Their time together was filled with love, joy, fun, and adventure. They looked forward to each new day with hope and love. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Sophia Thompson, brothers, Walter, James and Ross and sisters Evelyn and Irma. He is survived by his wife Sandy Harriss Thompson; two sons, Michael Thompson and wife, Martha; Shawn Thompson and wife, Helen; grandsons, Jake and Ethan; granddaughters, Juli, Kaylan, Whitney and Marcie; great grandsons, Matthew, Braden and Eli; four sisters, Dorothy, Jane, Captola and Teola. Pallbearers are Jerry Bruce, Nathan Bruce, Grant Paton, Robert Bray, Michael Thompson, and Shawn Thompson. The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and their staff who cared for Joe over the years, with a special thank you to Dr. James Graham and his nurses Vicki and Jackie.
