Joseph Raso, Jr. January 26, 1937 - June 25, 2006 Joseph Joe Raso, Jr. of Waco, local architect, passed away Sunday morning, June 25, 2006 after an all too brief battle with Amyloidosis. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 28 at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Rev. Rakshaganathan Selvaraj as celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM and Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Tuesday, June 27 by Rev. Bill Brooks with visitation continuing after Rosary at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel. Joe was born January 26, 1937 to Guiseppe Raso and Antoinette Raso in Utica, NY. Joe served in the Air Force where he met and eventually married Lavanda Sue in 1959. After several years of apprenticeship, Joe passed the national boards and became a licensed architect in 1968. Joe since enjoyed a long and rewarding career as an architect in Waco, most recently with the firm RBDR, PLLC Raso, Bailey, Dudley and Rose. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by wife, Sue; daughter, Teresa and son-in-law, Dale Fritz of Waco; his son, Chris of Plano; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kynthia and Scot Fritz; three sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Dale Fritz, John Rogers, John Pena, Dayton Collinsworth, Scott Nelson and Stephen Ott. Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Bailey, Grant Dudley, Dr. Stanley Hersh, Dr. Dennis Michaelis, Rev. Stanley McKown, Odis Nichols and Herb Stoetzner. Memorials may be made to Providence Foundation, the MCC Foundation, the MCC Golf Scholarship Fund or the charity of your choice.
