Josephine Eleanor Waits Crow July 25, 1907 – November 3, 2006 Josephine Eleanor Crow of Waco passed away Friday, Nov. 03, 2006. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7 at Union Cemetery in Durango, TX with Rev. Jim Chandler officiating. Visitation will be from 4–6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mrs. Crow was born July 25, 1907 to Hattie Lee Anderson and Joseph Marcus Jackson Waits of Durango, TX in Falls County. She was a graduate of Durango High School, Southwest Texas State University and Baylor University. She taught as a governess on a ranch in Val Verde County, schools in Falls and McLennan Counties, Waco Public School and St. Louis Elementary of Waco. She was member of Waco McLennan County Retired Teachers Association. At the age of sixteen Mrs. Crow united with the Durango Methodist Church. After moving to Waco she joined St. John’s Untied Methodist Church, now Central United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the Fellowship Class. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Charles Erra Saxon of Waco; two brothers, Woodson Waits of Rogers, TX and Leonard Waits of Long Beach, CA; a daughter-in-law, Cecille Crow of San Antonio; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Winfrey Maidene Waits; a brother-in-law, Ray Crow of Galveston and nieces and nephews.
