Joyce Irene Schaeper

Joyce Irene (Adams) Schaeper, 92, of Waco, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 24, 2023. She was born April 7, 1930, in Falls County to Walter and Lelene Adams. Joyce graduated from Lorena High School and later in life, completed her two-year degree in bookkeeping at McLennan Community College in 1975.

She married Wallace Schaeper in 1949. She was a long-time member of Hewitt First Baptist Church. She spent most of her years as a busy stay at home mom, but did venture out, and worked many years at Motor Truck Company in Waco.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a great quilter, making over 60 quilts in her lifetime, which many relatives and friends were blessed to receive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; and sisters, Pat Fischer, Jeanette Peters, Nadine Hurt, and Sylvia Rowe.

Survivors include sons, Randal Schaeper (Diane) and Ronnie Schaeper (Penney); daughter, Sharon Haught (Steve); four grandsons, Brian Haught, Jeff Haught, Jake Schaeper, and Dalas Schaeper; one granddaughter, Lindy Gulebian; three great-grandsons, Hudson Haught, Hayden Haught, and Julian Haught; great-granddaughter Gracie Schuetz; brother, Kenneth Adams; sister, Linda Peters; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Arbor House Assisted Living/Memory Care and Interim Hospice for their loving care.
