KILGORE, JOYCE LAVERNE Joyce LaVerne Kilgore passed away Sunday, May 9, 2004 at the age of 62 years and 314 days. Graveside services will be held at 10am Saturday, May 15 at Fort Parker Cemetery near Groesbeck with Rev. Bill Wright officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Friday, May 14 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mrs. Kilgore was born June 30, 1941 to George and Thama Courtney of Teague, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nita Rogers; and brother-in-law, Junior Kilgore. Mrs. Kilgore is survived by her husband: Ralph Kilgore; brother, George Courtney and wife, Della of Thornton, Texas, sister: Jere Van Dement of Huntsville, brother, Alton Courtney and wife, Sue of Huntsville, son, SSG Ralph D Kilgore and wife, Carla of El Paso, daughter, Debbie of Waco, brothers-in-law, William Kilgore of New Waverly, Texas, Clyde Kilgore and wife, Alice of Hearne, Texas, and Don Kilgore and wife, Linda of Madisonville, Texas, sisters-in-law, Ruth Ward of Marlin, Texas, Dorthy Trumper of Blanket, Texas, and Mary Ann Douglas and husband, Ray of Marlin, Texas; grandchildren, Gary, Amanda, Rachel, Lea Ann, Rebecca, Alicia, Charlie, Kevin, Matthew, Victor, Nicholas, and Celine; great grandchildren: Dylan, Christian, and Athan; a total of 82 nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. The most precious gift she left behind was the lessons she taught and the examples she set for others. Because of this, no matter how short the span, no life is wasted.
