Joyce Todd January 20, 1931 - November 28, 2013 Joyce Wiederhold Todd passed away peacefully at home Thursday, November 28, 2013, surrounded by loved ones. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 5, at Woodway First United Methodist Church, Thursday. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Joyce was born January 20, 1931, in McAllen, Texas, to George and Cora Wiederhold. She earned a degree in business from Texas A&I University in Kingsville. Joyce married James Bain Todd on March 28, 1951, and was a dedicated wife and mother to their three daughters. Joyce was a member of Woodway First United Methodist Church for almost 50 years. She was an avid gardener, serving as an officer of the Flower Show Judges Council, and loved sending friends home with plants to enjoy in their own gardens. She served her community for many decades in a wide variety of ways, including dedicating her time to the Waco Girl Scout Program, Midway PTA, and Providence Hospital. She traveled the world, sharing her adventures and love of arts and culture with family and friends. Joyce is survived by her husband, Jim Todd; daughters, Lanell Armstrong, Linda Murphy, and Laurie Lowe; son-in-law, Mike Lowe; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Wiederhold Hearne. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Woodway.
