Joyce Wendland Thompson September 5, 1935 - June 22, 2013 Joyce Wendland Thompson of Woodway passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at her residence. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Pastor Mark Griffin officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Joyce was born September 5, 1935, in Runnels County, Texas to George and Ruby Wendland. She was a loving daughter, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and a wonderful friend to all she knew. She was a great home maker. She was a partner of Ridin High Cowboy Church in China Spring. She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, her husband, C. W. Tommy Thompson; and her brother, Gene Wendland. She is survived by her loving family; daughters, Dawn McCullough, Woodway, TX, Darla Wellendorf and husband, Kirk of Raleigh, N.C.; sons, Ralph W. Thompson and wife, Cindy of Brownwood, TX, Richard Thompson of Granite Shoals, TX; grandchildren, Morgan Lene' McCullough, Christian Prosperi, Maximus Wellendorf, Tom and Jerry Thompson, Ricky, Ronnie, Rochelle Thompson; and seven great grandchildren; special family friend, Jann Dyer Wienecke and numerous other family friends. Honorary pallbearers are Dustin Morrow, Justin McCullough, Dalton James, David Wienecke, Branden Holder, Tom Thompson and Jerry Thompson.
